The Knight's Castle

Chapter One - The Mysterious Strangers
2 Jun 2010

"Wow! I can't believe that we finally left the city and moved to the country where it's so quiet and peaceful," Abby said to her identical twin sister, Addy.

Addy and Abby recently moved to a house in the country near River City and haven't had a chance to explore their environment. They recently graduated from college and wanted to live by themselves because they wanted to work on their freelance writing and the books they wanted to write.

"What was that?" Addy asked, as she took out her blue and white handkerchief and wiped the dust away from her face when something whizzed passed her on the dirt road. She looked in the direction the mysterious strangers disappeared and thought that she caught a glimpse of what looked like two knights dressed in shining armor and riding horses, but they left a cloud of dust behind since they rode so quickly that she couldn’t identify them for sure.

"I'm not sure because whoever it was dashed by me so fast that it caused my body to jerk, and then I stood as stiff as a statute, but I think it looked like two riders on horses," Abby replied.

"We could mount our horses and attempt to follow the two riders that were dressed in shining armor like knights,” Addy suggested.

"Sounds good to me."

Addy and Abby walked to their small barn where they kept their two horses and supplies. There was another door in the side of the barn that led to a corral so the horses could get some fresh air. They climbed on their horses and headed down a country road.

"Which way should we go?" Addy asked.

"I don't know where the mysterious people disappeared to, but let's go down the road near the woods. We might locate them in there," Abby suggested.

"Good idea."

They rode down the country road near the woods and searched the area as they rode to see if they could spot the mysterious strangers. Within a few minutes, they noticed that dust covered the road ahead of them, but they didn't know what caused it.

After they approached the dusty area, they realized it could have been the mysterious strangers riding their horses quickly down the road to where they lived.

"Look up ahead! I see something strange!" Abby exclaimed.

"What is it?" Addy asked.

"It looks like two white horses with two riders in shiny silver armor like knights wear."

"Are you serious?" Addy asked, with a surprised look on her face.
