Solution to Jenny’s Memory Loss

Summary:

The stranger entered Jenny’s house, tied her up, and robbed

her. However, he had a terrible time trying to locate her money.

Jenny also couldn’t remember where she put her money, and she had trouble trying to identify faces. The intruder left the house feeling confident. He believed that the woman wouldn’t remember him or remember what happened because she forgot things.

Below is the solution to the mini-mystery. Do you think the intruder was safe or that someone found him?

Solution:

1. Where did she hide the money?

She hid the money on the screened-in porch. The stranger had searched the bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, dining room, and living room. He forgot to search the screened-in porch.

2. Why did the stranger think nobody would find him?

The stranger didn’t think nobody would locate him because Jenny forgets where she puts things. Also, Jenny had trouble remembering faces. He knew she wouldn’t be able to remember his face.

3. What happened during the investigation?

As Detective Mallory asked Jenny questions, Jenny started remembering things. She remembered what happened during the robbery and what the stranger wanted. She also remembered where she put the money. Most important, she remembered what the man looked like. As a result, she described the man and told Detective Mallory. She picked out the man’s photo from a group of photos that Detective Mallory showed her. Since she remembered all of these things, Detective Mallory could locate the robber and arrest him.
